Roderick is a great teacher with a very effective teaching method. I highly recommend his lessons!

Roderick has: - the ability to make the most complex piece of grammar sound simple and logical, - the patience to correct me even when I have made the same mistake a million times before, and - the empathy to understand my frustrations with all the esoterics of the Dutch language. This to me is the perfect combination and it helped me pass my naturalisatie examen, dank je wel Roderick!

Have finally found some Dutch lessons I enjoy. I feel my Dutch is improving and Roderick gives time to explain new grammar, practice listening and speaking as well as time to answer any questions we have about the language or Dutch culture. Highly recommend!

Dag! Let me try to be typical Dutch and tell it like it is: when I hop on my vliegtuig and vlieg away from Amsterdam in a few months, my hersenen will be forever gezellig-fied with memories of Dutch lessons with Roderick and my international squad of school moms. Roderick, bless his Dutch soul, would be agreeing wholeheartedly for the 199th time why "de" and "het" make absolutely no logical sense whatsoever, other than a few exceptions. Yes, always the exceptions! But he'd also dissect nested bijzin, and hoofdzin with a reflexive verb in past perfect tense, until they actually made sense - ja, echt waar! Would I rather bike against the wind in a code orange thunderstorm than try to master Dutch word order? Possibly. Sometimes. But at least I can now complain about the weather to my neighbor, as well as the increased prices at the local slagerij. And that, mijn vrienden, is what really matters.

I have been studying the Dutch with Roderick for two years. The lessons were structured so engagingly that I barely even noticed them ending. We always started by discussing news and events, that helped me a lot to be quickly fluent in the conversations. Roderick always answered my questions and explained things clearly until I truly understood. He is a true professional, cheerful and upbeat, yet demanding. I highly recommend him. Ik studeer al twee jaar Nederlands met Roderick. De lessen waren zo boeiend opgebouwd dat ik nauwelijks merkte dat ze afgelopen waren. We begonnen altijd met het bespreken van nieuws en gebeurtenissen, wat me enorm hielp om de gesprekken snel vloeiend te leren spreken. Roderick beantwoordde altijd mijn vragen en legde dingen duidelijk uit totdat ik ze echt begreep. Hij is een echte professional, vrolijk en opgewekt, maar toch veeleisend. Ik kan hem van harte aanbevelen.

This is my third dutch course. I have quit the previous two. I finally found a friendly environment where to share my progress and my frustrations. I might eventually finish this course! Thanks
